Spring Egg Hunt Adventure

Saturday, April 3rd
10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
City of Upland Parks

Hop from park to park in the City of Upland to hunt for Spring wooden eggs created by The Sawdust Factory during the Upland Recreation and Community Services Spring Egg Hunt Adventure!

At each park stop, find the wood Spring egg, read the clue for additional stops at other parks, and collect Spring Bunny Slips along the way.  Be sure to hold on to the Spring Bunny Slips to turn in at the end of your adventure.

Approximately nine wood Spring eggs will be hidden throughout various Upland parks. Find a minimum of four Spring eggs, collect the Spring Bunny Slips, then visit Magnolia Park and the Spring Bunny as the last stop.   At Magnolia Park, your Spring Bunny Slips will be handed to the Spring Bunny (on a drive-through basis) in exchange for a prize basket, the chance to win a golden egg, and an additional prize for each golden egg.

Two-hundred baskets will be available, on a first-come, first-serve basis. As a special treat, the Spring Bunny will be available for socially distanced photos!

This is bound to be a popular sure to start early!!!

Little Chefs For Easter With Ms. Cooper

Wednesdays, March 31st & April 7th
3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Via Zoom
Ages:  5-9 Years
From The Convenience Of Your Own Home 
$20/2 Sessions

Ms. Cooper's class offers "hands-on" recipes, basic food preparation skills, measuring and safety lessons in the kitchen, and the opportunity to learn easy, fun and tasty Easter themed treats that can be made at home. At the end of each class, the "Little Chefs" will enjoy their own tasty hand-made treats.  A supply and ingredient list and a Zoom link will be available one week prior to the start of class.

Peep-A-Palooza Marshmallow Peep Contest

Monday, March 15th through Sunday, April 11th
Ages:  All Ages

This year, Upland Recreation and Community Services is taking the sweet colored sugar and tasty marshmallow Peep to a new level with our Peep-A-Palooza Marshmallow Peep Contest!  This fun and creative contest is for kids and adults of all ages!

Grab some of your favorite Peeps, any characters and any colors and get creative!   Use some of your favorite books, movies, cartoons, and TV shows for inspiration to you create a prize-worthy scene. 

The rules are simple:  1.  Your entry must use actual marshmallow Peeps.  2.   Take a photo of your prize-worthy scene.  3.  All photo entries must be submitted no later than Sunday, April 11th.   Please submit all photo entries with name, age, and phone number to

Prizes will be awarded in four age categories:    
3-6 years of age
8-12 years of age            
13-17 years of age         
18 years

Take & Make Spring Craft Kits With The Sawdust Factory

Upland Recreation and Community Services is excited to announce our partnership with The Sawdust Factory this year to provide "Take & Make" Spring Craft Kits for kids of all ages!  Each craft kit includes a wooden holiday cut-out created exclusively for Upland Recreation and Community Services participants, paint, and a paint brush.  All that's needed is your creativity to provide a personal touch from the comfort of your own home.

Pre-registration is required.  Register Monday, March 1st through Monday, April 5th at 6:00 p.m. by visiting Take & Make Spring Craft Kits.  Craft kits may be picked up on Monday, April 12th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Magnolia Recreation Center located inside Magnolia Park, 651 W. 15th Street, Upland.  

Lettuce Grow A Salad Garden

Thursday, April 15th

It's time to plant your own "salad garden".  Join a San Bernardino Master Gardener, for a fun and educational garden experience and learn how to grow, care for, and reap the benefits of your own garden at home.  Each child will be given four containers to decorate and plant their own vegetables and herbs to create their "salad garden".

Butterflies In May

Thursdays, May 6th & May 20th
3:45 p.m.-4:30 p.m.  Check-In At 3:30 p.m.

Your child will have the chance to witness the beauty of the butterfly by experiencing its changing life cycle from caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly.  Each child participating in this special event will need to bring a prepared shoebox and their imagination to decorate a home for their caterpillar.  Participants will be provided supplies to decorate their shoebox and a live caterpillar to watch its changes.  Children MUST be accompanied by an adult.
